What To Expect?
In this live session, we’ll explore the sacred plants and traditional herbal practices associated with Oshun, the Orisha of love, beauty, and abundance in the Santería tradition.
The class will open with a brief symbolic offering to honor Oshun. From there, we’ll explore the key herbs associated with Oshun, including their spiritual uses and folk medicine applications.
You’ll learn how to connect with Oshun through plants with a simple ritual to respectfully petition her energy in matters of love.
These live sessions are hosted on our online learning platform the BIPOC Herbalism Community and are part of our monthly herbal knowledge shares. Learn more about the community offerings at the link below.
Meet our Speaker
Introducing our speaker - Monique The Kitchen Bruja
Espiritista | Osainista | Psychic Medium | Mambo Sancista
Monique, known online as The Kitchen Bruja, is a natural-born bruja and spiritual worker who walks several ancestral paths. She is an Espiritista, initiated Osainista in the Afro-Cuban Santería tradition, and a Mambo in the Sanse tradition (Puerto Rican Vodou).
Her spiritual journey began in 2013, when she embraced her ancestral calling after years of receiving prophetic visions. She’s an initiated Osainista in the Afro-Cuban Lucumi tradition (Santería), a daughter of Eleggua, and a Mambo Sancista in Puerto Rican Vodou (Sanse), under the guidance of Sancista Brujo Luis.
You may remember her powerful session at this year’s BIPOC Herbalism Conference, where she introduced her path as a bruja and healer. In this upcoming workshop, she continues the conversation by focusing on the role of herbs and plants in Santería and beyond.
