In this class, Akayá Kapiô Puri, a Brazilian Indigenous spiritual leader, and Hevelyn Maia Tupinambá, an Indigenous activist from the Brazilian Amazon, will share essential knowledge for preparing oneself before, during, and after healing work.
This session is especially supportive for therapists, herbalists, and healers seeking to strengthen energetic protection, clear residual energies, and deepen their spiritual grounding during ceremonial and healing practices.
Roots & Remedies: Guyanese Healing Herbs

Roots & Remedies invites you into the rich herbal traditions of Guyana and South America through storytelling, cultural memory, and virtual demonstration.
In this session, Denise Van Nooten teaches you the healing qualities of native herbs such as carrion crow, sweet sage, sweep broom, soursop, and Suriname cherry. Together, we will reflect on how these plants support wellness, community care, and everyday healing practices.
